Data we collect

We process the following data:

  • Contact details: first name, last name, email, phone number.
  • Business details: company, job title, country, sector.
  • Content of your requests: the message and notes you write in the forms.
  • Account data: login credentials and data entered in the Personal area.
  • Preference data: consents given, newsletter subscription, interactions with our emails (opens and clicks).
  • Browsing data: IP address, browser and device, pages requested and referring pages, date and time of access.

How we collect data

  • When you fill in the contact form, the quote request form or a landing page form.
  • When you create or use an account in the Personal area.
  • When you subscribe to the newsletter.
  • When you write to us or call us.
  • Automatically, through the systems that run the website and through cookies (see the Cookies section).

Fields marked as required in the forms are needed to answer your request: if you leave them empty we cannot follow up. Subscribing to the newsletter and consenting to commercial and marketing communications are always optional: if you do not, you will still receive an answer to your request.

Purposes and legal bases

  • Contact requests: answering requests for information, quotes, advice on choosing a charger or support, including via landing pages – steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Required to receive an answer.
  • Personal area: creating and managing your account and giving you access to the chargers’ technical data sheets – performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Newsletter: email updates on products, technical news, blog articles and TCE events – your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Optional.
  • Commercial and marketing communications: offers, promotions, product presentations and invitations to trade fairs and events by email, phone or messages, and follow-up for sales purposes – your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 130 Italian Privacy Code). Optional.
  • Emails to existing customers about products similar to those purchased – legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR and Art. 130(4) Italian Privacy Code), unless you object, which you can do at any time.
  • Email statistics: measuring newsletter opens and clicks to improve content – your consent to the newsletter or to marketing communications (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • Website statistics: understanding how the website is used – your consent to statistics cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code).
  • Advertising measurement: assessing the effectiveness of our campaigns – your consent to marketing cookies (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code).
  • Operation and security of the website: delivering pages, protecting forms from spam, preventing cyber attacks – legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Legal obligations: legal, tax and accounting obligations – legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
  • Legal protection: establishing, exercising or defending legal claims – legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Forms, landing pages and consents

Contact forms include a link to this notice: no consent is needed to answer your request. Landing page forms include three separate checkboxes:

  • Acknowledgement of the privacy notice (required): you confirm that you have read this Privacy Policy. It is not a consent: it shows that you were informed before sending your data.
  • Newsletter subscription (optional).
  • Consent to commercial and marketing communications (optional).

The optional boxes are never pre-ticked and are independent of each other: you can give one consent and not the other. If you leave them unticked, your request is handled anyway. Before sending you the first newsletter we will ask you to confirm your subscription through a link by email; if you do not confirm, your address is deleted from the list. We record the date, time and wording of each consent so that we can demonstrate it (Art. 7 GDPR).

Withdrawal of consent and objection

You can withdraw your consent to the newsletter or to commercial and marketing communications at any time, including for one channel only (for example phone only), with the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@tcechargers.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you.

Data retention

  • Contact requests with no contractual follow-up: 24 months from the last contact.
  • Negotiations and business relationships: for the duration of the relationship, then as required by law.
  • Personal area accounts: until the account is closed, then up to 30 days.
  • Newsletter and marketing communications: until consent is withdrawn, or 24 months without any interaction with our emails.
  • Proof of consent (date, time, wording): for as long as the consent is valid and the following 10 years, for legal defence.
  • Browsing data and security logs: up to 6 months, unless needed to investigate offences.
  • Accounting and tax records: 10 years, as required by law (Art. 2220 Italian Civil Code).
  • Cookies: as stated in the Cookie Policy.

At the end of these periods data is deleted or anonymised. It may be kept longer only where required by law or to defend legal claims.

Who receives the data

Your data is never disseminated or sold. It may be accessed, only for the purposes above, by:

  • authorised and trained staff of TCE Group srl (Art. 29 GDPR);
  • service providers processing data on our behalf as data processors (Art. 28 GDPR): website hosting and maintenance, email and newsletter services, customer relationship management (CRM), IT security;
  • authorised TCE distributors and dealers in your area, only to follow up on your quote or purchase request; they process the data as independent controllers, under their own privacy notices;
  • consultants, banks and public authorities, where required by law or contract, or to enforce a right.

The up-to-date list of data processors is available on request at info@tcechargers.com.
